Very interesting survey!

Fantastic survey, really interesting results.
Is there a central source showing MEP voting records, organised by topic? Perhaps this is the next step for the EP? This would be really helpful in allowing citizens to show how individual MEPs, parties and political groups are working on issues that are crucial for voters. And of course expense claims, attendance records....Hopefully this survey will show MEPs that citizens are watching and are interested in what they are doing.

Hi,
I agree with Rachel "that citizens are watching and are interested"; but there are big differences in the use of Internet within the Online Community and therefore the means of interaction.
On the one hand more than half (33%+20%) of MEPs and 43% (25%+18%) of German Internet users use social networks. On the other hand 40% (24%+16%) of MEPs use Blogs to communicate but only 8% (6%+2%) of German Internet users read them and less than one third (4%+25%) trust this information.
I think figures for the use of social media are different in France and Southern Europe but there won't be an Obama-styled election campaign in Europe for some years ... and no need to.
